About the Project
DFA was approached by a specialist in the field of exercise and play to partner in re-imagining an existing bus stop in the East Bay area of San Francisco. The transit stop was located directly across from a middle school and arriving vehicles were often delayed, forcing the students to wait. DFA’s goal was to transform the bus stop into a more multi-faceted, dynamic hangout spot where students could be expend their energy through physical activity. The use of different textures, surfaces and heights encourages interaction, transforming the experience of waiting into one of movement and productivity.
